The Miracle of Giving & Receiving

When you touch the heart you can achieve miracles. ~ACN

To touch someone with compassion, kindness, gentleness and profound love gives both the giver and the receiver such a sense of wanting to give or receive again.  In the action of both giving to yourself and to another the sense of well being is so great, a real “feel good” feeling that makes your heart want to soar.

Often in our lives we have to ask for assistance.  At times we ask for ourselves, sometimes we as for another.   When we ask with genuine passion and caring, touching the heart of the person from whom we ask, we are more likely to achieve a positive outcome.  When we ask in anger or in desperation, we alienate the person from whom we are asking assistance allowing their heart to be hardened when they respond.  No one likes to give when under pressure.  Yet they will openly give when they feel the need of another.   Please do not mistake this plea for support as a “feel sorry for me” scenario.  It really is not the same.  An example of this may be a family in need because the parents are out of work yet they are still doing all they can to keep their family together. This is opposed to the inebriated person who stands on the street corner, with their hands outstretched and who becomes angry when you do not fill it with coins or notes from your wallet.  The latter may be the “feel sorry for me” whilst the former is a circumstance which touches the heart.

We do not have to wait to be asked either.  We, with our seeing eyes, hearing ears, and giving heart are able to, at will, open our hearts to support others.  It is at these times that we can and do achieve the miracles that happen every day of our lives.  Remember always that when giving with no expectation of recognition for what we give, is the greatest of all forms of giving.  Try it!  Give to someone anonymously, watch silently as they receive the miracle in their life, and feel the blessings that flow to your from your Divine.

Whether you give or receive today, may you experience the joyfulness of creating or receiving a miracle!

In love and light,
Amanda
