Facing your Problems

You cannot free yourself from a problem by shutting your eyes to it. To free yourself from a problem you have to acknowledge it and face it with your eyes and heart open. ~ACN

In current times when we are overwhelmed by financial problems, relationship problems or just life problems in general we find that we just want to shut it all off and escape, ignoring what is staring us in the face. We start playing the “avoidance” game both with our loved ones and those with whom we have business dealings.  How often to do you find yourself refusing to take calls because you fear it may be a creditor asking for a payment or you walk from the room when someone says something that you do not like to hear.  Rather than stay and sort out the issue you simply walk away.  You begin to hide, doing the ostrich thing, hiding your head in the sand. Pretty soon this becomes a habit, a safe haven for you.  You often say or think, “I wish I could go to sleep and when I wake up this issue or problem will be gone”.  If only!

No! Avoidance and hiding does not work. It may be a temporary solution to your problem yet in the long run the problem becomes bigger and bigger and one day you wake up and find yourself in very deep, very hot water.  With this feeling of drowning comes depression.  Contrary to what most people believe, depression is a very good thing.  It is your soul’s way of telling you that something is wrong with your life and best you sort it out.

So you choose! Sort it out   or   continue the hiding game again hoping against hope that you problem will just go away.

The only way to fix your current situation is to jump into feet first.  Do not fear the reprisal of what the reaction to your addressing it will be.  It is just a consequence of your previous actions and you will no doubt learn something from it.  Acknowledge firstly that you have a problem, then with great bravado and squared shoulders confront it with love.  Take teeny tiny baby steps if you must.  You will soon see that these become giant leaps.  At the end of the day, you will be in a state of gratitude that you had the courage to face what you have and will come through it with great strength and wisdom.  Know that through it all you will be supported by your loved ones passed, your guides and Angels and most definitely by your Divine.

In love and light,
Amanda
