Pushing Past the Pain

Just for today, I will push past the pain and allow my soul to shine, for my body is naught but a vessel that houses my soul .~ACN

Some of us are afflicted with health problems. Our bodies are a clear indicator of how and what our soul endures. When we fail to listen to our higher self and continue down roads of destruction to our being, we find that our bodies begin to fail. Some failings are small and can be easily healed. Yet others take longer. Sometimes we find that we have contracted pre-life to experience pain or ill health and in this instance, we find that no matter what we do, healing does not take place. To be in this place, is to accept what you are learning and then let it go. It is when we do this, that we can continue with peace in this life time to when the time comes when we can leave our dearest Mother Earth for the afterlife naturally.

I am one who has come to learn this. Certainly, I did not listen to my higher self and walked a road of destruction for many years, behaving in a fashion not suited to my soul. Since I have stopped this chaotic behaviour and listened, I am able to control my health issues and continue to breathe the air of life. Having said this, I am fully aware of just how fragile life is and know that at any time I can be called home.

When we rise above the condition, acknowledging its presence, accepting that it is there, working through the process of the condition, and then letting it go, we allow ourselves to experience the condition fully and can then learn from it. When we do this, all the treatments, the mountains of chemical medications we have to take, the alternative treatments etc. become secondary and non-important in our lives. They are there yet we realise that there is more to life than all of this. We can love our bodies as they are and can honour it for what it still does for us. We can be who we are meant to be. We can be joy, love, compassion and peace. We can be what our Divine intended us to be. We can truly LIVE.

By becoming all depressed and in a state of self pity, we worsen our condition and devalue our lives. We unconsciously deprive ourselves of the goodness in our lives and so do not serve our souls.

Children who are terminally ill are such an inspiration. They bravely face their illness, seldom complaining and are always in gratitude for each little blessing that comes their way. When you research wishes by children in the Reach for a Dream projects, they do not ask for millions in monetary wealth. They tend to ask for what will really bring them joy. These requests range from wanting to ride in a fire engine, riding a horse, swimming with dolphins, climbing a hill, four by four driving, meeting a celebrity etc. They appreciate each second of the experience and show such gratitude for it.

As adults we should follow their example. It’s the small things that count and that make life worth living. It’s the laughter of children, the joy of birds singing in the trees, the squirrels that dash up and down the trunk of the tree, collecting their food and happily chomping on it, listening to your favourite music or enjoying an evening with wonderful friends. Such small things, yet those of the things that make life joyful!

So yes; for today, one minute at a time, I will push past the pain, and allow my soul to shine.

In love and light,

Amanda
